There’s nothing like a street party or a front yard cookout for bringing a neighborhood together. Whether it’s a birthday party, a Halloween party, an anniversary party or a just-because party, the GGNA will provide up to $75 towards food, paper goods, street closure permit, entertainment, or whatever you choose.
How the grant works:
1. Fill out the online application. Remember that the grants are for parties that are visible and accessible, and that include at least three Glenwood households.
2. Save your receipts and submit them after the party for reimbursement OR you can request a grocery store gift certificate before the party.
3. Glenwood Together has graciously offered to print flyers and invitations if that would help you invite neighbors.
4. If you want to block off a city street go to the City of Greensboro website and search for “neighborhood block party permit”. Applications must be submitted 30 days in advance; the fee is $50.
5. After the party please send us some photos that we can use to publicize the program. We’ll also ask you to fill out a brief survey – your input will help us plan for future parties.
